Shoot Emergence, Leaf Expansion, and Corm Growth in Amorphophallus muelleri Blume Treated with Hydropriming and Shading

A bulbil, as planting material, is difficult to stimulate grow in a dormant state. This study examines the hydropriming effect on shoot emergence and shading treatments leaf cormel growth during vegetative stage. The priming was carried out by soaking bulbils distilled water for 0, 3, 6, 12, 24 hours at 40, 80 percent. results show that imbibition occurred immediately first 3 continued increase up hours. bulbil re-drying process reached pre-treatment content less than three days. Significantly earlier observed plants exposed 80% shading. petiole sheath breakup not affected konjac planted treatment produced more sprouts, longer but slender petioles, larger thinner leaves, size. differences fresh dry weight were related tuber moisture direct of treatment. SPAD value leaves increased within few days after application NPK fertilizer consistently lasted four weeks.
